Amanda Bright Child Development School

Okay, this time it's final.

After a year, i have finally decided that it's time to send AJ to school. But to be able to... say, test the waters first, I have enrolled her to a summer school program in Amanda Bright Child Development School. It's a special summer program for Proficiency in 3R's for Nursery & Kinder. I don't quite understand yet what 3 R's mean in pre-school learning (Reading, 'Riting & 'Rithmetic perhaps wehehe). But basically, as the teacher's put it, it's an introductory program to assess the child's readiness to learn how to read, write and count. Since AJ did not go through nursery, Her knowledge has to be at the same level as the children who went through nursery by the time we enrol her to kinder class.

After the program, she'll be tested by her teachers to check if she can be accepted as a kinder pupil or if she needed to be enrolled to nursery first.

I do have high hopes that she can pass. She's a fast learner and thinker (although most of the time, sa kalokohan ginagamit), She has learned a lot from her brief spiel at Little Archers. She knows how to count until 40, she knows her alphabet, though she often mixes the small letters d, b, p & q, she knows how to write her name, so overall, I know she can pull it. But of course, I am the Mother, I have the right to be bias wehehe!

So, I am having my fingers crossed!

a career milestone...

Next monday will be our Company's 2012 Business Plan presentation. I was once of unfortunately fortunate one's to present this year's BP. This will be presented to our Company's President, Chairman and stakeholders (including investors and partners from South Asia). Being away from school for almost a decade made my memorization a little too rusty but I think I can fix that. My real problem is my NERVES! As in! I do have problems w/ speaking in front of a lot of people, i buckle and stutter a lot. Not only that, but something in me makes me lock all my systems and make me shutdown. And the more everybody lauds me and says "kaya mo 'yan", the more I would want to curl up and hide.

Now I have to work this all out Big Time! With only less than a week before the actual presentation, I have to steady my frying nerves, I have to memorize and correctly pronunciate my high fallutin' spiels, and to top it all I have to remember to SMILE. Which makes it all the more difficult. Because, Okay, I have already memorized my spiels, but i buckle, when i do not buckle, I have to remember to smile, and when I did start to smile, I forget my lines. Haaist! Who says life is not difficult?

So I need to learn how to put this act up together. This is a big opportunity for me to show them what I got (If i really got "IT"). I am praying to God to help me soothe my nerves, to help me remember all my lines and make me look confident in front of my bosses.

I hope that I can do this...

10 things i want to do within the next 10 years

There's a lot of things I wanted to do in life. But I know I can never do it all at the same time, So i came up with the list of just 10 things i want to do within the next 10 years. Mostly maybe petty, some maybe impossible but hey - still promises fun, fulfillment and excitement. My list as follows:

1. Sky Diving - coz, hey i wanted to know how it feels like to soar the skies.
2. By a Pajero and Volkswagen Beetle
3. To have my own little "country" house.
4. To pursue the house the me & my siblings dreamed of. (4 houses - 1 for each of us with an adjoining backyard (with pool) w/c is really conducive for family bonding.
5. Tour the Philippines and experience all the fiestas and festivals. starting with the following places (my top 10).
a) Club Noah Isabelle, Palawan
b) Baler, Quezon
c) Caramoan, Quezon
d) Hundred Islands & Bolinao Pangasinan
e) Puerto Galera, Mindoro
f) Camarines Sur
g) Catanduanes,
h) Albay (Mayon Volcano)
i) Benguet (Sagada & Mt. Pulag)
j) Turtle Island
6. Cruise Southeast Asia
7. Scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef
8. Go to Disneyland Hongkong on Aj's 7th Birthday
9. To have a very nice retirement home in Tagaytay (Overlooking taal) or Corregidor (seafront)
10. Renovate my parent's house

This is actually a prayer list for me. I really do hope to achieve this list!
